The Gazelles are being built in steel. Wherever possible the steel brought into the site for use on the vessels has mill certificates confirming its quality. We are using IS:2042 - Structural Steel (Fusion Welding Quality). However in all cases samples of steel are sent for tensile strength testing and chemical analysis which is carried out at Cochin Shipyard Ltd.
